Quick Instructions for Simple Message installation and use:
A easy more amateur radio based message form than the official ICS213 was requested.
Less fields to fill in that are agency or ICS related only.

More info about templates and HTML in the RMS Express help files.
(RMSE = RMS Express client software)

NOTE: These template packs are for RMSE to RMSE for HTML display. Both sides must have
the same Zip pack. However the information is also contained in the message body and readable
as plain text. These templates are also available in the "catalog" feature via radio.

Templates can use JavaScript and CSS for full featured HTML display, tested on Windows 7, 8, and 10.
Some are having issues with templates from within RMSE using Chrome on Windows 10 64 bit.
SeaMonkey, Firefox, IE, and Edge all seem to work fine. They may or may not work under Mac
or Linux properly with Windows emulators.

Various browser viewing sizes can affect display data. Printing is best done from
the two viewer HTML's, suggest portrait printing for this form. You can save as a PDF document via third
party software such as BullZip. Subject line of the Simple Message is also the file name for printing or PDF
document name. This form has both Local and UTC dates and defaults to local date and time.
Date/Time can be edited by the user if the wish something other than the auto selection.

1. Download the Zip file.

2. Unzip the 7 files into your RMS Express Global - Template folder.
This text file is included, so copy and move it to wherever you wish.
It can not be viewed from the template pull down menu.
The other 6 files are all that need to be in the Template folder.

3. The file you need to open with Select Template from the Message - New Message window is:
RMSE_Sim_Message_Inital (It is a text file). You may also read the help files in RMSE on how to
set a favorite template button for quicker access.

4. The initial form will pop up on your screen to fill in, when done hit the SUBMIT button on forms
bottom left. Note you need to fill in a Subject Line. Close your browser screen, if still open, and
you may now address and post your message for sending. The HTML info is a small .xml data file that
is attached and opened at the other end, in RMSE, with corresponding template. If the other side
has does not have RMSE and/or the template pack, the info is in plain text in the body, and readable.

5. You can view what you sent or print, by clicking on the FILE Icon next to the message you just sent.
Only the viewer HTML's have the print function indicated at forms top left.

6. If you receive a Simple Message it should open for viewing, if not click on the FILE Icon to the left of
the message info line. If you get more than one HTML form at a time, sometimes you will have to click on
the individual message to open and view.

7. To Reply, be sure to have latest version RMSE, close the viewed HTML and open the message normally, then
click on the Reply button in RMSE message pane top bar. The reply HTML will pop up for you to fill in.
When done click the SUBMIT button on forms bottom left to complete. Close your browser, address and post
the message. If you wish to view any form again, just click on the FILE Icon to the left of the
   message info line.

If the Original message is not all visible in the viewing window when made larger, minimize the browser and
view the sent text in the plain text normal message.

Suggest you try a few back and forth within RMSE to get comfortable. Remember these are radio delivery forms,
not normal Internet conventions.
